Casa Giuditta B&B, our house, is an old farmworkers house, much enlarged about 100 years ago and now a comfortable home which we share (from a separate apartment) with our guests, many of whom enjoy the feeling of being in a “home from home”.
We are near Castiglione del Lago in Umbria, 4 km from the border with Tuscany, surrounded by fields, worked and harvested by local land owners.
Casa Giuditta B+B forms part of a small courtyard facing on to open farmland. There are sheep nearby and you can fall asleep to the sound of sheep bells, and cicadas singing in the trees. The views from the first floor south facing terrace are wonderful and can be enjoyed while breakfasting outside or relaxing in the evening. It is possibile to see the church spires and towers of Chiusi and Citta delle Pieve, about 15 kms away.
 
It is possibile to make Casa Giuditta Bed and Breakfast your centre for a few days, visiting Montepulciano, famous for its vino nobile, Pienza, to see the local sheeps cheese made and to buy, or Chiusi for its Etruscan artefacts and tombs, Deruta which specialises in the local ceramics is only just over an  hour away as is Assissi with its beautiful church of San Francesco. Cortona, made famous by the book and film  “A House in Tuscany“ is only half an hour away and although Orvieto may seem further away, thanks to the autostrada it can take only an hour to reach the town with its beautiful cathedral and famous white wine!
